You can’t move far in Detroit without talking about cars. In this week-long “soups to nuts” camp, we discussed both the hardware and software in autonomous vehicles.
Kids assembled the cars themselves and got an in-depth understanding of the main components. They then learnt how to program the computer (Arduino) that controls the car. We also developed an understanding of how artificial intelligence, machine learning and machine vision are defining the future of autonomous vehicles.
In this camp we learnt:
- The hardware and software in autonomous vehicles
- An understanding of how driverless cars work
- An overall understanding of how Artificial Intelligence is changing our world.
- Assembling the car
- Program the Arduino micro-controller
- Testing out our obstacle-avoiding car
It was a lot of fun – you can see it on all our faces 🙂
