Lime Lab is a low-profit LLC organization started by girls and women with an interest in computers, robotics, and technology in general. Lime Lab develops programs for STEM education. We are especially focused on reducing the inequities in STEM education for girls and minorities. We have partnered with organizations such as the Michigan Science Center in Detroit and the Detroit Public Library to offer FREE or low-cost technology training to girls and other technology disenfranchised groups. To learn more about the programs we offer, please check out our Courses and Camps. We count among our advisors Professors and researchers from esteemed institutions such as Wayne State University, Carnegie Mellon University, The University of Michigan and MIT. We are excited to partner with anyone who shares our vision of technology as an amplifier of human potential. We envision a world where technology is an enabler of the many and not merely a tool for entrenching existing inequities. The scale of challenges we wish to tackle is large and we are looking to leverage help from any quarter and in any form. We believe that only together can we contribute at a scale that makes a difference. If what you have read so far excites you, please contact us at contact@limelab.org. We are especially interested in partnering with school districts interested in adding a STEM component to their existing programming. We are trying to accelerate the pace of change and any contribution is greatly appreciated!
MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to empower and inspire young girls to become confident and skilled at working and creating with technology, by providing accessible and inclusive training programs that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Through hands-on, online, and hybrid learning experiences, we aim to bridge the gender gap in technology and foster a diverse and inclusive tech community. Our ultimate goal is to equip the next generation of girls with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in a technology-driven world.
